β€˜Merlana’ is produced by Vite Colte using Erbaluce grapes, a white grape variety traditionally associated with the Caluso area and the Canavese hills.

The vineyards are situated on morainic soils of glacial origin.

For this wine, Vite Colte has replaced the traditional pergola training system with the Guyot system, increasing the density of the vines and reducing the quantity of grapes produced by each plant.

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of between 16 and 18 °C for around ten days.

The wine then matures on its own lees in stainless steel tanks and completes its ageing process with several months’ rest in the bottle.

Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
