Travagliniβs Gattinara DOCG is produced from Nebbiolo grapes and is the wineryβs historic label, deeply rooted in the Gattinara area of Upper Piedmont. The wine is also distinguished by its iconic asymmetrical bottle, designed and patented by Giancarlo Travaglini in 1958.The distinctive curve serves more than just an aesthetic purpose: it was designed to trap any sediment whilst the wine is being served, whilst the dark glass helps to protect the wine from light.Having become a symbol of the winery over time, the bottle has also been exhibited at MoMA β the Museum of Modern Art in New York.Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 10β15 days. This is followed by a long ageing period in oak barrels, rounded off by a further period of rest in the bottle before release.

ββββββββ PAIRINGS ββββββββ
Travaglini Gattinara is ideal for pairing with structured dishes with intense flavours.Among first courses, it pairs excellently with mushroom risottos and dishes enriched with meat sauces. It also pairs well with roasted or grilled red meats and slow-cooked dishes, such as braised meats, stews and other meat dishes. It is particularly well-suited to game and mature or blue-veined cheeses with a strong flavour.
ββββββββ SERVING ββββββββ
Serve at a temperature of between 18 and 20 °C.For a wine of this structure, a wide-bowled glass is recommended, as it allows the aromas to unfold gradually.
ββββββββ STORAGE ββββββββ
Gattinara is a wine that is also suited to ageing in the bottle and can be kept for several years under the right conditions.Keep the bottle away from light and temperature fluctuations, in a cool environment with a stable temperature.
