"Il Mimo" (the mime artist) is a Nebbiolo rosé produced by Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo in the hills of Ghemme.First produced from the 1992 harvest, it showcases the iconic grape variety of Upper Piedmont in a fresh and delicate style, yet with enough structure to accompany an entire meal.
The name derives from a rare Roman-era theatrical mask discovered at the foot of the Ghemme hill, chosen as a symbol to commemorate the ancient link between theatre, Bacchus and wine.
The grapes come from the Breclema, Carella and Valera vineyards, situated at altitudes of between 280 and 310 metres on morainic, gravelly and mineral-rich soils.
After the harvest, which takes place in the second half of October, the must remains in contact with the skins for just one night, thus acquiring its rosé hue.Once separated from the skins, it ferments slowly at a controlled temperature and is left to settle at low temperatures to achieve natural stability.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
