La Lus is made from Albarossa, a Piedmontese grape variety resulting from a cross between Barbera and Nebbiolo.Banfi interprets it to create an intense, modern red wine that combines a substantial structure with a pleasant smoothness.
The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, acquiring greater complexity without losing the grape variety’s fresh, fruity character.

It pairs well with rich and flavourful starters, such as cured meats and crostini with pâté, but also goes very well with fresh pasta dishes served with ragù or other elaborate sauces.Its structure also makes it suitable for main courses featuring white and red meat, roasts and stews, such as rabbit.It is also a particularly interesting wine when paired with dishes featuring white truffles.
