Organic Alpine Flora Honey produced by a small artisanal Piedmontese company in the area around the romantic Lake Orta. This wildflower honey is derived from the variety of mountain blooms. Its colour can range from straw yellow to light amber, whilst on the palate there are floral notes that are slightly fruity and sometimes faintly balsamic or spicy, depending on the season and the nectars gathered by the bees.
It is a honey that truly reflects the region from which it comes: each harvest may have slightly different characteristics, precisely because it is the result of a blend of different wild flowers rather than a single type of blossom.
This local speciality is available in two sizes: a 1 kg jar or a 500 g jar.
REMOVING NATURAL CRYSTALLISATION:Alpine wildflower honey tends to crystallise more easily than acacia honey: this is an entirely natural process, linked to the composition of the nectar collected by the bees, and does not indicate any deterioration in the product.Crystallisation can make it lighter in colour and creamier in texture, without altering its quality or flavour. The best way to restore crystallised honey to its liquid state is to gently warm the jar in a bain-marie in water at a temperature of around 40 °C.Stirring occasionally helps to distribute the heat evenly and speed up the natural melting process.
